Content Management System
The capability to manage and track the location of, and relationships among, content within a repository.

CRM (Customer Relationship Management)

CRM entails tracking all aspects of customer interactions, whether it is sales or service related.

Data management

The development and execution of architectures, policies, practices and procedures that properly manage the full data lifecycle needs of an enterprise.

Data Warehouse

Central repository for all, or most, of an organization's structured data.

DAM – Digital Asset Management
A form of enterprise content management that consists of management tasks and decisions directed as successfully meeting opportunities and threats in the business environments by effectively indexing, retrieving, storing and distribution a company’s digital assets in a way that the overall objectives of the company and it’s clients will be achieved.

Digital Signature

Electronic signature that can be used to authenticate the sender of a message.

DIP (Document Import Processor)

DIP works as a companion with document image capturing systems and empowers customers to quickly and easily archive large numbers of files, and their related indices, directly into their ECM software. Designed for the archival of documents and images generated by third party applications, DIP lends itself to performing large back-file conversions from legacy systems.

Disaster Recovery
The plans, procedures, and contingencies that enable your company to setup, reconfigure, and continue to work after a disaster or during a work disruption, such as a power outage or natural disaster.

Document
A document is defined as a set of related data elements, including text, metadata, or hyperlinks – that, when taken as a whole, represents evidence of a business process or decision. All documents are considered to be records and are producible in a lawsuit. Documents contain information and usually intend to communicate or store collections of data physically or in electronic (digital) format.

Document Imaging

The process of capturing, storing, and retrieving documents regardless of original format, using micrographics and/or scanning.

Document Management
Software that controls and organizes documents throughout an enterprise. Incorporates document and content capture, workflow, document repositories, COLD/ERM and output systems, and information retrieval systems.
