What is Application Designer and what function does it serve?
Application Designer is an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) where and administrator creates re-usable application templates using position based mark-ups of specific keywords and other key values; e.g. client identification numbers. Once created, these templates can be used for future production runs to locate the same "keys” in similar documents.
What is Job Designer and what function does it serve?
Job Designer is used to create automated jobs executing the templates created in Application Designer. When the job is launched, several automation and processing services pull the designated information (keys) from document pages and create indexes. The outcome of this process is a searchable dataset which is passed onto other OptiWeb and OptiAuthor components for archival and publishing via the internet or on portable media (CD/DVD).
What is MediaView and what function does it serve?
MediaView provides users with access to the datasets on media (CD/DVD) or network attached storage devices. Search results can be viewed, browsed, emailed, saved or printed as needed. Media access may be secured by user-name and password protection. In addition, encryption facilities for the individual datasets on media are a new key feature with several options for the delivery method of the decryption keys for access.
What is OptiSearch and what function does it serve?
With Internet Explorer (IE) as the supported browser, OptiSearch provides fast search & retrieval capabilities for individual documents and reports through the internet. Access security is provided by the integration of Microsoft Active Directory (role-based user authorization) to the hosted data. To enhance transmission security between the client and the centrally stored datasets, OptiWeb features encryption capability using secure socket layer (SSL) technology.
What type of database software is supported in OptiWeb?
Currently OptiWeb interacts with Microsoft SQL 2000 and 2005 exclusively.
